After completing a Bachelor’s degree from MIT and a Master’s degree from Harvard, William worked as a robotics engineer on projects like the renown, BigDog, and ability-augmenting exoskeletons.

However, after being inspired by a colleague who excelled at both visual design and engineering, he took a break from mechanical engineering in robotics to pursue a career in software. He founded and ran Grand Interactive for eight years, creating highly technical and engaging apps.

Afterward, he worked for a telematics company for seven years as a director, where he engineered the next generation of technologies in smartphone telematics that measure driver behavior, vehicle dynamics, and risk for insurance companies.

He has proven experience in mobile app development, and is seeking new challenges in sensor fusion and state estimation technologies for SLAM and perception.

William has been likened to a “utility player on a sports team” because he can perform at a high level across multiple disciplines. His experience in software, mechanical engineering, sensor fusion, leadership, various styles of management, sales, marketing, product development, user experience, and more, makes him a valuable asset to any team, particularly in the early stages.
